Every now and then, Steve Hodell gets an urge for one of his favorite hot dogs. And Hodell doesn't let the facts that he lives in Rhode Island and his favorite hot-dog joint is four hours away, in Fair Lawn, N.J., stop him from heading for Johnny & Hange's Jersey style Hot Texas Wieners.

One of the best of my childhood memories--driving in after visiting family for hamburgers "all-the-way"! (This was one of my father's favorite lunch spots, too.) I live in Burbank CA now, but whenever I visit family in NJ I always make it a point to stop in to J&H's for a burger and fries.

One of my fondest childhood and young adult memories is of my father taking us to your River Street stand for an all the way dog... Each time I came home on military leave (back in the late 60â??s) I made it my mission to have a half dozen dogs at Johnny and Hanges. In my 21-year military career, I literally traveled the world, and never found a place that served an â??All The Wayâ? dog like yours. Do you ship your â??All the wayâ? dogs? If so, can you send me a price list so I can give you an order? Sincerely, Bruce Johnson

It was 1968 the last time I had a footlong from your establishment. I'm planning a trip back to Jersey this summer and I will be stopping in... looking forward to it!!!

I cannot believe I found this on the google. This is a favorite part of my childhood. I left Fair Lawn back in 1964, right when the Beatles were expected to play Shea Stadium. We lived above the Val Chevorlet dealership in Glenn Rock and made the trip to J&H at its original location. Even my grandma in her 60's back then remembers the green striped beverage cups. I wish there was a way you guys could sell this stuff everywhere, at least the hot dog sauce. Florida has nothing on New Jersey. Please come down here.

I was just introduced to your food by a good friend who's been eating it for years and I have to say, your dogs are the best! That's saying allot b/c, I'm originally from NY so I grew up on Nathans hot dogs.

This is, by best, the best dogs I've ever tasted. Our father took us to the have our first "all the way" with chocolate milk and fries at the old location and ever since, my whole family (who have long since moved from Jersey) have craved them. This is our #1 vacation spot!

I had a hotdog for lunch today. It was sooo boring. I told my husband how I still miss Johnny and Hanges hotdogs after 30 years. I have a hard time describing what "all the way" hotdogs taste like!! Just thought you"d like to know what an impression you made on me if I can still wax nostalgic about your food after three decades! Was delighted to see that you are still in business...and if I ever get up your way again I will be sure to stop by and dine on the best hotdogs I've ever eaten!! Thanks for the memories!

Best hamburgers, hot dogs, and fries in the world!!!!! The special sauce is what makes them so good. Three generations of my family have been J&H fans. My grandfather introduced them to my father and my father introduced them to me.

First thing I want to say is I love your food especially the sauce. I am 45 years old have lived in this area my whole life used to go to Patterson location with my dad and I now bring my 10 and 8 year old kids about twice a week and they love it. Perhaps having the menu on the web page would be a good idea in case someone wants to try something new and think about it in advance. Final comment place is always very clean and service is beyond excellent I recommend to everyone thanks again.

I just read the cartoon, Zippy, in the Sunday paper and saw a cameo of your restaurant! Brought back great memories.

In the 1970's when I was member of the Hawthorne Ambulance Corps. The Hawthorne Police Dept. had a code often heard over the radio "Barking dogs Wagaraw and Fifth Ave." to tell the nearest unit to pick up hot dogs at your old location. Every friday we would meet at the ambulance garage for hot dogs.

Hi! My boyfriend lives in Fair Lawn (I'm from Mt. Vernon, NY), and we often stop in for some dogs and fries!! Great place! Every small town should have one! The one by me is called "Walters"! Keep up the good work--see you soon!! --Clash
